Hello everyone, so here is the recipe for the famous Jalar appam. This is also called Roti Jala in Malaysia.
Ingredients:
- Maida – 3 Cups
- Sugar – 1 tsp
- Salt- as needed
- Small Onion – 10
- Fennel seeds – 1 tsp
- Egg- 1
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Water
- Milk (Optional)
Method:
- Firstly, make sure you needed the required ingredients.
- For this recipe, you will need a jalar mug to make the jalar.
- Grind small onion and fennel seeds well and drain them (Onion Water).
- In a blender, add maida flour, oil, sugar, salt, egg, onion water, water or milk, and grind them till it becomes smooth batter.
- Heat pan, and grease ghee over it.
- Now use the jalar mug to pour the batter on the pan.
- Remember to spread the batter all over the pan evenly.
- Apply some ghee on top of the Jalar Appam.
- The Jalar appam can stay on the pan for 30-40 seconds.
- Now repeat the steps for the remaining batter.
- Serve and Enjoy.
